Federica Beccaria is a PhD student at the Université libre de Bruxelles, withing the ACTE project. Her main research interest is the speech production of children with autism spectrum disorders, with a focus on their non-social and social cognitive skills. More specifically, her approach has a multimodal take, and examines different levels of linguistics analysis (e.g., phonology - pragmatics) and natural language processing applications (e.g., machine learning methods). She is currently involved in a multi-site and multilingual project that covers the data collection and analysis from the speech of 3 to 7 years-old children. She is also interested in investigating the process of early diagnosis, taking into account gender related biases due to socio-cultural influences and expectations.
